Navigating the New Normal: Military Families After Service

Understanding the Transition from Military to Civilian Life

Transitioning out of military service impacts more than just the service member—it reverberates throughout the entire family. While many anticipate relief or stability, the reality often brings unexpected changes in identity, communication, emotional connection, and family dynamics.

This virtual training, developed by Forge Health VFR in collaboration with the Veteran Spouse Network, is specifically designed for spouses, partners, and loved ones navigating this significant life change. Participants will explore the psychological, relational, and cultural aspects of military transition, gaining practical tools to support themselves and their families during this period of adjustment.

There's no single timeline for military transition. Some define it as the one to two years before or after separation; for others, the adjustment runs much longer. Wherever your family stands, this seminar meets you there.

Join us to uncover strategies for managing common challenges like identity loss, role renegotiation, stress, and emotional disconnection. You’ll leave equipped with realistic expectations, communication tools, and resources to foster long-term family wellness and reintegration.
