About The Central State

The Central State is a project of the Translational Health Research Center at Texas State University. It is created to provide data and resources to people living along the 35 corridor who need information to be healthy.

The Central State, led by the Translational Health Research Center at Texas State University, brings together impartial, independent local, state, and national data into one accessible, user-friendly location. This gives our community the tools we need to understand and address the factors that affect our collective quality of life.

The Central State is a consortium based on health and resilience located in San Marcos, TX. We recognize that we are in the middle of an innovation corridor sitting between San Antonio and Austin which is the next up and coming metroplex. By closing the geographic loop and leveraging relationships, we seek to empower organizations and foster collaboration to further drive innovation in health and economic resilience.

Focused on health+resilience research in Central Texas (Bexar, Comal, Hays, Travis, and Williamson Counties), this tool can help our community set goals and evaluate our progress. Organizations, schools, nonprofits, local agencies, and other community groups can share and use information to showcase the assets of life in the I-35 Corridor as well as identify opportunities for improvement, with specific, data-driven resources.
