Compassion Fatigue & Boundary Setting

Feeling overwhelmed by the demands of work, family, community responsibilities, and the unique challenges of military life? It’s easy to lose sight of your own needs while caring for everyone else. This peer support group, designed for military and veteran spouses/partners, provides a supportive space to explore the impact of caregiving, address its challenges, and learn boundary-setting strategies while gaining practical tools and connecting with others on a similar journey.

If you're feeling stretched thin, overwhelmed, or like you're constantly pouring from an empty cup, you're not alone, and this session is for you.

Join VSN Peer Leaders for a conversation about compassion fatigue: what it is, how it affects us, and how setting healthy boundaries can help you protect your time, energy, and well-being. You’ll connect with other military and veteran spouses/partners, share experiences, and walk away with practical strategies to care for yourself without guilt or burnout. You’ll also get a sneak peek into the Veteran Spouse Resiliency Group (V-SRG), a program designed to foster connection, personal growth, and resilience.

What You'll Gain

  • Recognize signs of compassion fatigue and how it can impact daily life

  • Learn realistic, effective boundary-setting strategies to support your well-being  and prevent burnout

  • Connect with others who understand the unique demands of military and veteran family life
