Resilient Communities: Bridging Mental Health and Emergency Preparedness

Free half-day conference on mental health & emergency preparedness. Connect, learn & collaborate with leaders across Central Texas.

About this Event

Event Description:This free, half-day conference will focus on how communities can better prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies—while also prioritizing the protection and support of mental health. In Central Texas, where natural disasters and crises can strike with little warning, building resilience before an event can lessen the mental and emotional toll on individuals and families.

Resilient Communities: Bridging Mental Health and Emergency Preparedness brings together public health professionals, emergency responders, researchers, nonprofit leaders, and community members to explore the critical intersection of crisis response and mental well-being.

Conference Goals:

  • Promote cross-sector collaboration to support mental health before, during, and after emergencies.

  • Highlight evidence-based, community-centered strategies for preparedness, response, and recovery.

  • Share practical tools, data, and approaches that strengthen individual and community resilience.

  • Strengthen regional relationships and coordination to ensure a more unified, trauma-informed response to future crises.
